A student may have one or more of the following identifying numbers VCAA Student Number, Victorian Student Number and/or Unique Student Identifier. The Victorian Student Number (VSN) is a student identification number that is assigned by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development to all students in government and non-government schools, and students undertaking Vocational Education and Training. The number, which is unique to each student, is used as a key identifier on the student’s record and is required until the age of 25 throughout the student’s education. The VSN is nine digits long, randomly assigned and is tied to identifying information about the student (name, gender, date of birth).
For more information regarding the VSN, please visit the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority webpage (click to visit the link) for additional information.
