Successful Graduates are not only defined by qualifications, but also measured employment outcomes. AAPoly recognises that one of the primary objectives for investing in further education is to enhance career prospects, and therefore, career support services are designed to prepare, inspire and empower students to achieve successful career outcomes.

Having recently established in August 2019, our Career Services framework and strategy aims to provide students access to a range of career development support throughout the student’s life-cycle, across 5 key areas of engagement:

  • Professional Development Workshops & Industry Guest Speaker events
  • Work Integrated Learning, Volunteer & Employment opportunities
  • Alumni Engagement

The purpose of providing tailored career services is to enhance the student experience and support student’s development in becoming job-ready, which increases employment prospects and confidence to successfully integrate into the Australian workforce.

Career Coaching

We offer personalised career coaching to support students with a range of career-related guidance, including:

  • Personalised resume feedback and recommendations
  • Guidance on tailoring cover letters and addressing key selection criteria.
  • Career planning activities that help guide students on the right career path.
  • Personality traits evaluations to assess strengths/weaknesses and communication style.
  • Employment pathway advice and tips on job search strategies.
  • LinkedIn profiling to promote personal brand and jobseeker profile.
  • Job interview preparation (Phone, face-to-face, video and assessment center formats).
  • Work integrated learning, volunteer and employment opportunities.
  • Information about professional associations and other industry networks.

Workshops & Events

Each semester, Career Services run a number of different career development workshops and host guest speakers, giving students the opportunity to hear from industry experts and expand their professional network.

The workshop calendar can be found on Moodle and promotional posters can be viewed on the Careers Notice Board.

Alumni Network

Our Graduates join a community of over 2500 Alumni and gain access to a range of benefits that come with joining our Alumni Network, including ongoing access to career support services, whether to seek general career advice or get assistance with securing a full-time graduate job.

AAPoly hosts cocktail-style Alumni Networking Events, which are a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with fellow alumni, AAPoly staff and industry partners. Graduates are also invited on campus for Alumni Panel discussions to share their Graduate journeys with new students.
