ACADEMIC & LANGUAGE SUPPORT

Academic Support Sessions

AAPoly provides Academic Support Sessions to students who require further assistance and to students identified as at risk of making unsatisfactory course progress. These sessions are aimed at helping students with subjects and assessment tasks to ensure they have the best possible opportunity for success in their studies.

Academic Support Sessions are especially helpful for the following:

  • New students studying their first semester who could benefit from the transition support or who would like additional support with their first summative assignment submission.
  • Students enrolled late in the semester.
  • Students with poor participation/attendance (less than 50% in the enrolled subjects in the semester).
  • Students with poor performance identified in the Week-3 formative assessment task.
  • Students unable to complete their course within a reasonable/expected timeframe (COE period).
  • Students who have failed the same subject twice.
  • Students who have performed poorly in a number of subjects across a study period.

Note: Students who wish to access this service during the semester can confirm their place by contacting the Associate Dean (Education) or Program Coordinator.

One-On-One or Group Support

If you are having trouble with the language, literacy and numeracy demands of your course, with assessment tasks, with workload management, or if you want to develop your communication skills for the workplace, AAPoly offers one-on-one and small group consultations.

One-on-one or group support sessions will centre around subject materials, assessment tasks or skill development resources.
