Academic Credit Transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning (HE) Policy | Procedure

States the guiding principles and outlines the action AAPoly performs for the following cases:

  • Credit Transfer – The transfer of credit from one course to another when one has successfully completed units of study relevant to the course being applying for
  • Recognition of Prior Learning – The assessment of relevant prior learning as credit that will transfer into the course being applying for

Academic Integrity, Honesty & Free Intellectual Inquiry Policy

States the guiding principles and outlines the action AAPoly follows to ensure the following:

  • Academic Integrity & Honesty – the maintenance of quality scholarly practices by acknowledging the authors and creators of ideas and materials that have informed one’s work and avoiding cheating, collusion, and other forms of poor scholarship
  • Free Intellectual Inquiry – the right to hold one’s own chosen values and be respected even when those values are being questioned. This includes values concerning culture, religious belief, age, race and gender

Academic Misconduct and Plagiarism Policy | Procedure

States the guiding principles and outlines the action AAPoly performs to address acts of dishonesty and plagiarism.

Access to Facilities and Hours of Operations Policy

States the guiding principles and outlines the action AAPoly performs to ensure that students and staff are able to access and use the facilities they need to study and work effectively.

Asthma Allergy Epilepsy Incident Follow Up Management Procedure

Outlines the process followed by AAPoly to report an asthma/allergy attack or an epilepsy incident and the procedures for keeping records and performing follow up actions.

Course Completion and Granting of Higher Education Awards Policy | Procedure

Course Credit (VET) Policy and Procedure

This policy and procedure is in place to ensure quality, integrity and consistency in recognising and assessing course credit through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT) and to process these requests in a timely manner.

Critical Incident Management Policy | Procedure

Outlines the process followed by AAPoly to report a critical incident and outlines the procedures for keeping records and performing follow up actions.

Cross-Institutional Study Policy | Procedure

This policy and procedure provide a guiding framework for cross-institutional study at Academies Australasia Polytechnic (AAPoly) – both inbound and outbound.

Deferment, Suspension or Cancellation of a Student’s Enrolment Policy and Procedure

States the guiding principles and outlines the action AAPoly performs to determine and address cancellation, deferment and suspension of a student’s enrolment – this includes deferment, suspension, leave from studies or cancellation of enrolment that is instigated by either the student or AAPoly.

Diversity and Equity Policy

States the guiding principles and outlines the action AAPoly performs to protect diversity and inclusiveness and to ensure employees have equal access to opportunities and are treated and judged fairly and respectfully.

Fee Payment and Refund Policy & Procedure

States the rules and processes AAPoly performs regarding the payment of fees and refunds.

Higher Education Enrolment Policy | Procedure

States the operational procedures performed by AAPoly that concern pre-enrolment, the process of enrolling students into courses and subjects and other procedures that occur at the time of enrolment like fee payment, id card issuing and online and late enrolment.

Higher Education Student Assessments Policy | Procedure

States the principles and outlines the actions AAPoly performs that guide the design and writing of learning assessments – the policy ensures learning assessments involve a meaningful application of knowledge; are reliable and valid; provide adequate details of the task, the assessment criteria, a marking scheme and grading criteria; and, are designed by a suitably qualified person.

Industry Consultation and Engagement Policy | Procedure

AAPoly ensures that the training provided to students is current and relevant. This is achieved through disciplined industry consultations including the periodic review of training and assessment strategies and assessment tools.

Information Privacy Collection and Disclosure of Personal Information Policy | Procedure

Outlines the rules and guidelines that apply to the collection, use, storage and disclosure of and access to personal information, including health information, that concern the personal privacy of past and present students and AAPoly staff.

Issuance of Certification Documentation for VET Qualifications Policy | Procedure

This policy sets the requirements for issuing Australian Qualification Framework compliant completion documentation to learners graduating from the Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs such as Certificates and Statements of Attainment. The guidelines safeguard the authenticity and validity of the certification documentation in compliance with the applicable regulatory standards.

Issuance of Higher Education Testamurs, Graduation Statements and Official Transcripts Policy | Procedure

States the process followed by AAPoly in determining students’ eligibility to graduate and the process followed for issuing higher education testamurs, graduation statements and/or academic transcripts to eligible graduands.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy (VET) Policy | Procedure

All enrolled students should have the appropriate level of language, literacy and numeracy skills to actively engage in the training and assessments of the course that they have chosen to study. Where their language, literacy and numeracy skills may not be adequate, AAPoly has procedures and systems that can support the learners and facilitate active engagement with their training and assessments. Such support will generally be provided for free.

Learning Resources and Educational Support Policy | Procedure

Explains the principles that guide Academies Australasia Polytechnic (AAPoly) in its provision of learning resources and educational support for AAPoly Higher Education students.

Monitoring Student Progress Policy & Procedure

This policy and procedure explain the principles that apply to monitoring student academic progress for courses they are enrolled in at Academies Australasia Polytechnic (AAPoly).

New Student Orientation Policy | Procedure

States the guiding principles and outlines the action AAPoly performs in the delivery of the new student orientation program to assist students with successfully transitioning to tertiary studies.

Pre-enrolment Information Policy | Procedure

States the guiding principles and outlines the action AAPoly performs to ensure prospective students in Australia and overseas are provided with accurate, relevant and timely information about the courses at AAPoly so that they can make informed decisions.

Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault Policy | Procedure

AAPoly takes a zero-tolerance approach to sexual harassment and sexual assault and other forms of harmful misconduct. This policy and procedure provide a framework to respond to reports of sexual harassment or sexual assault in a just, compassionate and effective manner.

Student at Risk and Academic Support Policy | Procedure

States the guiding principles and outlines the process by which AAPoly ensures early identification of students at risk of making unsatisfactory progress in order to provide the necessary support to rectify the progress lag.

Student Code of Conduct and Social Media Use Policy | Procedure

Outlines the ethical and responsible behaviour expected of AAPoly’s students when interacting with fellow students and staff, when accessing AAPoly’s network and computer facilities and when using social media.

Student Complaints and Appeals Policy and Procedure

States the guiding principles and outlines the process AAPoly follows when managing complaints and appeals, such as dissatisfaction with the academic or administrative aspects of AAPoly’s services or general grievances such as misbehaviour, discrimination, sexual harassment and bullying, and outlines the steps students should take to lodge a complaint or appeal.

Student Enrolment Policy

States the conditions that apply to enrolling prospective students and the actions required of AAPoly and the student in this process.

Student Participation in Decision-Making Policy

States the principles that guide the engagement of students in the governance and the decision-making processes of AAPoly to ensure the student experience and perspectives are considered and addressed.

Student Selection and Admission Policy | Procedure

States the guiding principles and outlines the process AAPoly follows to determine whether a student has satisfied admission requirements; for instance, the student has provided all the necessary application documents and has met the entry criteria concerning their qualifications (eg., their high school qualifications or completion of a recognised foundation course) and English proficiency level (eg., an IELTS score, or ELICOS certificate).

Transfer of International Students between Registered Providers Policy | Procedure

States the guiding principles and outlines the conditions that apply to processing a transfer to another registered provider and details the steps students should take to register their intention to transfer.

Vocational Education and Training Assessments Policy | Procedure

This policy and procedure outlines AAPoly’s Vocational Education and Training (VET) assessment practices and ensures that they are consistent with guidelines and policies issued through State and National Training Authorities and assessment criteria contained within the relevant National Training Packages.

Work Health and Safety Policy | Procedure | COVID-19 Plan

This policy and procedure provide the guidelines for maintaining safe and healthy premises in which AAPoly staff, students and third-parties can carry out their relevant activities effectively.

Work Integrated Learning Policy | Procedure

States the guiding principles for the management of internships or work placements that are offered as part of an AAPoly course, including how the host organisation is arranged, assuring the host organisation is compliant with workplace laws and requirements, and assuring interns comply with the professional ethics and the code of conduct.
